Real Brides – Catherine Strong

“James and I got married in Witney Oxfordshire, 21st June 2014. I walked down the aisle in pair of golden Christian Louboutins and my gorgeous bespoke Suzanne Neville dress – it really was my dream dress.

For our wedding reception we chose Caswell House, a 15th Century Manor House with newly restored medieval barns, ancient orchard, walled gardens and lawns stretching to the moat. It was the perfect place to hold our midsummer wedding, it had all the rustic charm of the country with all the finishing touches and elegance of a stately home. A summer wedding also meant I could have my favourite flowers, peonies and hydrangeas.

I chose a color scheme of Soft Blush Pink & Cream with accents of Gold. To reflect our Parisian proposal, the day was filled with French touches, including macaroon favours from Laduree Paris, French fans used as place cards and French wines were poured all afternoon. For dessert we served our 5-tier blush pink wedding cake decorated with pearl icing and fresh flowers.

The string quartet from the church continued to entertain our guests in the gardens throughout the afternoon, whilst they drank champagne. In the evening we had a live band performing, who keep the celebrations going until the early hours.”
